I can't think of a better way to wrap up 2011.. Here are the most horrendous fails of the year (plenty of two wheeled action in there too)

Dougie Lampkin tours Renthal factory
Renthal are already the kings of motocross bars and sprockets and are now producing some pretty special mountain bike components too.
Recently Renthal have uploaded footage of a tour of their UK Office & factory in Cheshire.
Not just any old factory tour though - the difference being that the visitor was trials legend Dougie Lampkin. A man that refuses to leave his bike at home is our sort of guy. Enjoy:
Those guys don't need convincing, they all know Two Wheels are Better.

So, you've seen the Ken Block videos and were impressed by his skills. But what if Ken had two wheels? We all know that four is too many..

Hilarious cycling prank
RĂ©mi Gaillard is probably the funniest man in France, this elaborate prank on unsuspecting cyclists is some of his best work
Thanks to Evan Hall for spotting this on the BikeRadar Facebook page!

Nearly everything looks better in slow motion
Take MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner and a camera that films at 1000 frames per second and something beautiful happens (all courtesy of the good guys at Red Bull):
Here is Darren Berrecloth pulling a 360 whilst sending a step down at the Red Bull Rampage:
Last but not least here is Gee Atherton nailing a huge stepdown gap to wall ride:
Another good example of how Two Wheels are Better.

Staying safe on two wheels
Unfortunately the roads are full of idiots. They tend to use four wheels but are not exempt from using two.
Here is a refreshingly good guide on what drivers can do to be more cyclist aware, it's worth a read even from a two wheeled perspective:
But never forget, Two Wheels are Better.

Some of the best tricks on two wheels
Check out this collection of tricks that require skills most of us can only dream of having:
First up is Mike Spinner's quad whip, where a bike nearly becomes a helicopter:
Next up is Benny Phillip's front flip tailwhip attempt from Crankworx, there are a few BMX guys who can do this but using a mountain bike it looks even more mental.
Harry Main's bunnyhop flair is just out of this world.
Here is Special Greg of Nitro Circus fame , his signature 'Special Flip' is something to behold

The art of the bunnyhop
The bunnyhop is one of the most basic but essential mountain bike skills.
Here is how it should be done, amazing:
In contrast here is a particularly nasty example of a bunnyhop FAIL:
But this is something that everyone really needs to see, much more than just a bunnyhop:
To hone your own bunnyhopping skills here is Sam Pilgrimto guide you through the art of the bunnyhop!
Whether or not you can or can't hop - remember, two wheels are better

The least impressive jump on two (square) wheels
Earlier I was day dreaming about a bicycle with square wheels, as you do.
Then I came across this peach of a clip..
Square wheels + a Honda clunk + too much health & safety = FAIL
" You are such a hero that was amazing"
Er, yeah..
Remember, even when your wheels aren't round, two wheels are better.

mini bike (really tiny) full loop the loop
I don't know what I love most about this video; the fact it is so pointless and even though clearly difficult it ends up looking a little underwhelming or the fact that it was uploaded by someone called bestpastarecepies.
Remember Two Wheels are Better
When did all the bmx's turn into scooters?
A good friend pointed out to us at 2WB the other day that kids in skate parks don't really skate or bmx any more. It appears to be all about the scooter, you know these things;
I suggested that there can't be many variants of the basic scooter design and that eventually these kids would buy a proper bike and then found these;
It turns out that even the humble scooter can be improved upon, have you ever ridden one.

Tiny Bikes will rule the roads
We are feeling a little goofy today at 2WB and have decided that we want to buy some tiny bikes, for commuting.
Is this the most or least patriotic tiny bike ever (he appears to be mixing his flags)
Safety first as the great helmet debate rages on, even in the world of tiny bikes.
I don't know about you but I think all tiny bikes should still come with a saddle
You can't beat a tiny motorbike, but how often do you have to fill up the tiny petrol tank?
Sadly in the world of tiny bikes the stunts are a little less impressive
Remember when it come to tiny bikes....Two Wheels are Better

Crazy Cyclist in Jamaica
I guess the title says it all here. Guys like this are the reason idiots like Jeremy Clarkson get away with bashing cyclists.
You don't need to be pulled by a truck if you remember that Two Wheels are Better
Doesn't this just make you want to go out and ride
So here at 2WB we generally post the adrenaline and funny stuff but in a recent chat with Rapha they showed us this video and we thought it made us just want to go out and ride
Proof indeed that Two Wheels are Better

Lake Jumping 35 feet in the air..with a breakdancer
This is top of the 2WB list of things to try, apparently it's a lot trickier than it looks. Also notice the breakdancer 30 secs in (is he really necessary)
When you need to make a dramatic dive into a lake remember Two Wheels are Better.

Real BMX trick that used to only be the realm of video Games
Vital BMX recently posted this video of Mike Clarke going from a Hang 5 to a front flip it is crazy and the kind of stunt I thought I would only see in video games.
Just to prove it's a video game trick watch the nosegrinds and hang 5's in this clip of Matt Hoffmans Pro BMX 2
Even in console format Two Wheels are Better.
8 yr old attempts a double backflip
I am sorry but how cool would it be to have a dad who builds you all this stuff in your back garden.

Cavendish v Wiggins...who would win in a fight
Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins are team mates for great Britain and now Team Sky ProCycling. They are used to working together (see pic below of Cav slinging Wiggins)
Wiggins also put in a great shift at the worlds to help Cav claim the road race title. But if really came down to it who would win in a fight. Googlefight provides the answer.
There you have it Mr Brailsford according to Google Mark Cavendish is your new number one. (Mind you, Google have been known to get it wrong, have you seen Google Plus)

One wheel is sometimes enough
After the wonder of the mountain unicycling, 2WB is a bit obsessed with what people will do when given A Wheel.

Check out the new 2WB crush, Aaron Fotheringham, he's just landed the world's first double back flip in a wheelchair.

More video proof that 2 wheels are the sexy future...
I know what floats your boat you dirty little buggers, the best performing post here to date is the sexy bike polo one. So I thought lets trick them and put a serious pro two wheel piece of propaganda on here with a sexy title....and here you are!
(If you go to the bottom of the post I have put some pics there for you..you mucky puppies)
The Real Post
I have been looking at cities where two wheels are the dominant form of transport and comparing them to the dreaded four wheeled hell of London's M25.
I don't need to tell you the result as you know but just watch the videos below to confirm it.
Ho Chi Minh City
Uterecht
London
I know where I'd rather live, because....Two Wheels are Better.
I feel a little bad about tricking you so here are some saucy two wheeled pics to keep you going till the next post.

4 Cross Rocks the UCI are idiots for killing it!!!
I cannot believe my eyes as it was recently reported on BikeRadar the UCI have decided to axe Four Cross from the Mountain Bike World Cup calendar. Is this the most bat shit insane decision in the world?
Surely like the fat kid who hangs at the back of the group in a horror movie or the guy in Star Trek who decides to wear a different coloured uniform from everyone else this is just a bad idea.
UCI just so you are aware of the impact of your actions this is what you are getting rid of;
Say it ain't so guys and remember that Two Wheels are Better, (Unless it's Four Cross when eight wheels is generally preferred)

Popping a wheelie at 6 years old vs Max Biaggi
I have been trying and failing a lot recently at trying to get my Honda CBR 125 R (I know it's not a proper bike, but I like it) to do a wheelie. It's not as easy as it looks and a lot of the guides on the web are...well crap and involve you killing your engine with over revs.
It led me to notice that there are a million wheelie movies on the Web most of which are boring, below are two of the best I've found and one that sent me to sleep.
Tre is 6 and can pop a wheelie on his toy tractor (I know it's 4 wheeled but he is only using two of them). this video fills me with shame and leaves me feeling inadequate.
Max Biaggi is one of the best professional motorcyclists in the world and how he recovers this I will never know.
Finally our friends at PinkBike have a veritable Smorgasbord of wheelie video's but whilst the one below shows great skill it is beyond tedious.
Remeber though people when it comes to Wheelies.....Two Wheels are Better

Is Bike Polo the toughest or sexiest cycle sport?
I was recently doing a little nosing around the web and came across the sport of bicycle polo. I thought that could possibly be the most boring sport in the world but a little research proved that not only is it tough as hell...
but in certain circles it is also very sexy
A reliable source also informed me that you will be able to see these lovely ladies in action at the LHBPA Hells Belles Tournament (here) on the 15th/16th of October in London.
If you can't wait till then here is a little pic to keep you interested...
Remember that if these ladies ask you about you riding preference...tell them Two Wheels are Better.

Handmade weirdness
Etsy - the craft market place - sometimes delivers amazing things that could only be handmade by an obsessive. Other times, it comes up with weirdness suitable only for mockery.
For the cyclists:
1. Polar bear on a bike? Beautiful.
2. Like wine, like cycling. This is for you.
3. Hirsute weirdness.
4. As Autumn approaches, it's important to think about keeping your bike warm with corduroy. No wait, that's tortoises and straw.
And for those who prefer engines:
1. In a word. Sweaty.
2. Mmm who doesn't want to lather up with a Harley?
3. Evil cake.
4. Bad Santa.

Hill Climb Two wheels vs Four...Guess Which is Better?
So I am in Vegas (have I mentioned that already) and I am watching the Republican Presidential candidate debate last night (it was that or the same Thigh Master infomertial for the 100th time) and it struck me.....some things, like cars (and right wing political debate), are fundementally boring.
So I decided to try and think of a motor sport where cars might stand a chance of taking on two wheels and providing a more interesting spectacle, I could think of none so I decided to ask a random American in the hotel bar (who turned out to be from Leeds). He suggested that hill climbing was a sport where bikes could never be more exciting than cars.
So please take a look at the videos below and let me know if you agree with the chubby fake American from Leeds.
Dirt Bikes vs Hill
Push Bike vs Hill
Cars vs Hill
You see what I mean, there is no comparison, cars are truly boring and as with all things in life...Two Wheels are Better!
Also did you know that this man single handedly started the war in Iraq and is a known Goat Blower

Is this the tackiest Video in the world....Viva Las Vegas
This is my second morning in sunny Las Vegas and between bouts of jetlag and noise overload I have been searching for the perfect video to show the best of Vegas...on Two Wheels of course.
I searched for videos of great riding on Bootleg Canyon and of Choppers riding one of the many strips but nothing compared to this little beauty.
This one video captures all the tacky and gaudy beauty of Las Vegas and the fact that in the search for a buck they will do anything.
Think you can find anything more tacky than this I would love to see it and remember even in beautifully tacky Lass Vegas...Two Wheels are Better.

MTB vs Radio Controlled Plane
Sorry that I missed you yesterday, had boss issues...it can happen to the best of us.
So I thought I would make it up to you by doing something extra special this morning. Then I had a peanut butter bagel and logged into SingleTrack and found this video and thought, sod em this is good enough for today.
Cove GSpot vs the Easystar FPV from BasqueMTB on Vimeo.
It is pretty cool, but I warn you the soundtrack is awful and I am still picking out the peanut butter from the bagel I smashed in there to block it.
I might post some rather nice crash video's later today so stay tuned and please do not forget that in every circumstance in life....Two Wheels are Better.
